“Fake”

You chase the life
Of your impossible dreams.
Your life’s too heavy,
Through the day all I hear is screams.

You’re never happy
With the ways that you are.
You live through others,
But it hasn’t got you too far.

You’re always saying
That your life is a hell.
You know the reasons,
But you never do seem to tell.

You’re never honest
Even when you do try.
All of your words
Have been nothing but goddamn lies.

You have to get away,
Get back—
Back to the ways that you were,
Before all this pain was started—
Before your life was a blur.
It’s no mistake that your life’s fake,
Everything is your fault!
But it’s not too late to, maybe,
Put all of this pain to a halt.

Just be yourself
And, maybe, you’ll do fine.
Stop all you’re crying.
Stop giving us the same old lines.

Start being fearless.
Start to act more real.
Just be yourself
And all of your life's wounds will start to heal.
