“Love Potion”

Drinking one lonely night,
Sitting high up on a stool,
I caught a glance through my eye
Of this shining jewel.

I’m desperate to learn her
And have been in turn
Way too long to spare it,
Though, could crash and burn.
But taking extreme chance,
I walk towards her way,
And I ask her to dance,
And she answers
“No way!”
So I turn around in sorrow,
And I head for the door,
And I walk toward tomorrow,
And then hear
“Hey, that was a joke before!”
So I turn again in wonder,
And I’m seeing the girl,
And my heart’s beating thunder,
And my heads in a twirl.
She says,
“I don’t like dancing,”
While my eyes wide and glancing,
Without single blink.
She smiles and says to me softly
“Let’s have a drink.”
